How to Manually Add a Printer
Purpose: To help users learn how to install printers that were not provisioned in VDI.
1. If you normally would expect to see this printer, your first step should be to refresh your printers. You can do that by following these steps: How to Refresh Your Printers. If these steps do not work, or you would like to add a printer that you normally do not have, continue following these steps.
2. Open the Start menu, and navigate to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
3. Click "Add a printer or scanner", wait for the blue text to appear, then click "The printer that I want isn't listed".
4. Configure the printer using the following settings:
- "Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname"
- Hostname and Port Name are both set to the name of the printer (the official Tree Top name for the device, in the style of "PRCS2".
- If prompted with the "Additional port information required" menu, select "Generic Network Card".
- If prompted with the "Install the printer driver" menu, select "Xerox Global Print Driver PS".
- Select "Do not share this printer", if prompted.
